Most of the people in this world are travelling. The travel can be to any distance. No matter, people are getting more and more aware of travel and its benefits. Travel can rejuvenate you, it can bring you at peace, it bonds families together, you get to see new place, its art and craft, culture and many more. These days, travelling solo has become a trend. Many people travel solo. Even I have travelled alone. Although my trips used to be Company sponsored but the feeling of solo travel is unparalleled. I love solo travel. Although I travel with my family a lot as well, but the experience one gets in travelling solo is unique and highly beneficial.
Five benefits of travelling solo
1. Total Freedom
You get your own space. Nobody to interrupt or disturb in what you want to do. Get up early or late. Eat or exercise, read a book, gaze at nature for hours or just laze around. Its your way and choice. Total freedom!
2. Time to get introspective
Since you are by yourself totally, you can use this’d time to reflect upon yourself. Who knows you can even come out with a new definition of yourself
3. Love for loved ones increases
Once you leave home and if you and your loved ones get time to think about each other. Your absence in the house increases your worth for them and vice versa
4. More confidence
Since you are alone, you have got to be responsible for yourself. Each country or a destination has got a different experience to offer. Be it subway of US or a metro in India. You may even pleasantly surprise yourself. I used to be so bad at maps but did never realize during my US trip, how good I was. Plus you get to tackle unwanted people and gain more confidence.
5. Become fearless and wise
By overcoming challenges, you become more wise and are able to make decisions. I personally got very independent decision maker after my four independent visits to US. One thing I learnt practically, where there is a will, there is a way. One gets to make more friends that become friends of lifetime.

One thing that I want to highlight is that I end up maximising my time and I can try out stuff which I would find it too dangerous to do when my kids are around. The energy is different when you travel alone and I feel free and more charged.
So true Prerna! Moms when travel alone find a bliss to do adventure sports if they have little kids. Thanks for mentioning.
I have never been on an actual solo solo travel. Well, once for work from Delhi to Mumbai, if that counts. However there have been times on our vacations where hubby has chosen to catch up on his sleep and I take about to exploring the city by myself. It is so exhilarating, the feeling.
