As a traveler, I click many photos and videos of destinations, hotels/resorts and food. There is a lot of upkeep that I need to do for them. Once I had gone to Nepal and we did Mountain flight. I had taken many photos of Mount Everest and Gauri Shankar peak and many more. Suddenly, I realized that all my photos were deleted. Thankfully, I got my photos elsewhere but till that time, I got paranoid. Recently, I heard about a tool that can recover my photos and videos even after permanently deleting them from my laptop or mobile. I was eager to know about it in detail. Post the presentation, they had divided all guests in four groups. Each group was assigned four sessions. Soon, our group was taken to a session where we were explained about the DIY software – ‘Stellar Photo Recovery for Windows and Mac’ to recover a permanently deleted file from an SD card or Android devices and iPhone.

It was indeed an eye opener for me. All the photos and videos that were deleted permanently in front of me, were recovered instantly from SD card and Android devices. Even the corrupted files were being repaired by the software and recovered. There is a preview section in the retrieval process where files that are recovered can be previewed. If the preview of a file is there, it means, the file can be recovered. Just that one has to provide the extension of the corrupted files. You can check the video in detail to know about it practically.
Then, we checked the software for iPhone. I saw that the messages that were deleted and were easily recovered in a few seconds.
The retrieval time depends on the size and quantity of data that needs to be fetched or repaired. Then we headed to check the Professional Data Recovery Software for Windows and for Mac. We could easily check that the files were being deleted and retrieved with the help of the software. One thing that needs to be taken care is that the destination folder for the retrieved files should not be same as the old one. The software won’t allow that.
Another session informed us that there is also a tool that helps us delete the data actually permanently beyond recovery.

Thereafter, we were taken to the lab class 100 where the severe cases of damaged devices and data were being retrieved. Visit to the lab was a great experience. First of all, we were taken to a normal room where the class was 10 lakhs which means one cubic ft of area had 10 lakh dust particles. It was followed by a compartment having a class of 10,000 followed by class 1000. Before entering into class 1000, we were given an air shower to remove any dust particles. In Class 1000, there was another room of Class 100 where experts were working wearing masks and coats on the devices that had gone bad.
