Cafe Hawkers as the names suggests, I was actually wondering how would the cafe be like and the food !
Ambiance
As I entered the restaurant, it was a nice and magnetic ambiance. I actually spent few minutes observing around. Lot of quirky stuff was there on walls. Walls had little beautiful paintings and lights thrown on those paintings made them even more lively. It was as if each wall had a story of its own. Tables had grass mats under the glass and some area in walls too. It was a pleasant sight I would say.
The upper floor had some very interesting decor. I was amazed to see rolling pins used in an innovative way to create a curtain. It was nice and captivating. Made me think how we can use average looking things in a stylish fashion.
Both floors had low seating making it more spacious and stylish. I liked glass tables and seating on both floors. The hawker style seating too was quite inviting!
I want to specially mention the so appearing crossing at Cafe Hawkers that grabbed my attention. It actually related to the concept as well as ambiance being rightly placed at an exact distance from ground and upper floor.
Food at Cafe Hawkers
As we settled, first of all I tasted Cous Cous salad. It was yummy. I liked the salad leaf and vinegar added to the taste. Cycle chhaap sandwiches of Bombay actually reminded me of sandwiches my Mother used to prepare. Totally hygienic. Having it with pure mint chutney was a lovely combination. Vada Pao too were genuinely good. Achari cutlet slider was specially delectable. I had it for the first time and loved it specially the flavour of pickle. I am sure it is going to be favourite of many.
While I was having all this, a mix fruit cooler was giving my palette a breezer all the time. It was very refreshing and good in quantity. Spicy cottage cheese with black beans was lusciously delectable. I don’t like cheese dishes much but this one was irresistible. Kamal kakdi ki chaat is a must try too.
In desserts I had brownie with ice cream which was good.
Service
Service was great as well! Serving staff ensured all our requirements were taken care of. Staff was prompt and courteous.
I liked the overall experience, service and ambiance.
So, if you want to have a quick or even laid back hygienic street food, North Indian, Chineese and Continental, Cafe Hawkers is the place. I recommend it for group gettogethers, students and families. A reasonable and good place to dine at.
