Yes, a cafe, a restaurant and a lounge all in one at Grub House, Rajouri Garden. Rajouri Garden in New Delhi has become another hub of foodies. Its a tough competition between restaurants. But, Grub House of Gola Group stands sharp on the main road of Rajouri Garden.
Grub as the name suggests is actually a food house providing multi cuisine including Indian, continental, Chinese, Mughlai, European.
I went to this restaurant with my friend. It was a long long due lunch that we finally decided to do at Grub House.
Ambiance at Grub House
Ground floor is the cafe for quick meal for foodies, First floor being the restaurant well lit naturally, has a beautifully done decor and seating arrangement for diners who want to relax, eat and have an experience. Lounge on the second floor has got strategic sitting arrangement to be able to provide appropriate space as per needs of customers. All the floors have touch of greenery providing freshness.
Food and drinks
First of all I had Basil Berry Martini which was a mix of Basil, strawberry and cranberry juice. It was cool and refreshing in the afternoon. Kamal kakri Chaat was an innovative chaat where kamal kakri was used instead of papdi. I was actually amazed at the creative idea of the chef. Not only was this healthy but also crisp. Good thing was that kamal kakri didn’t become soggy even after curd and chutney. My friend loved the Chicken Ceaser salad while I tasted Jamal Kakri. Next was the turn of mini veg spring roll which was crisp at the outer layer stuffed with cheese. I liked the taste along with the chettinad sauce that had papaya in it. The combination of two was good.
My favourite which was Glass noodle salad was an awesome dish having crispy glass noodles on the top of a mix of spicy and sweet salad. My palette just loved it. It was highly delectable. Penne Arrabiata pasta just satiated my taste buds. I loved it. Pasta was nicely cooked with appropriate ingredients and spices.
Mushroom Taka Tak was another innovation with Pao. It was a nice change. Although I was full by now but still had Dal Makhani and Paneer Kundan Kalia. Dal Makhani was delicious and I couldn’t resist eating more. Paneer Kundan Kalia was rich in almond and fried onion gravy. Bihari Sattu Parantha was another creativity which was awesome. Garlic Naan too was good to taste.
Along with it I had fresh lime soda mixed my favourite, which was prepared exactly as the taste I was urging for. It was a perfect drink.
Food doesn’t digest without sweets, so we were served with Cream cheese chocolate and Orio chunks pizza. I loved it! It may be caloric but I was not counting them any more. I was just indulging in this newest of pizzas. It was lip smacking. If you go with kids and otherwise as well, its a must must try. Chocolate mousse was also very nicely done and served with vanilla ice cream. I liked this dessert as well.
Service
Serving staff was highly courteous and knowledgeable about the menu. They provided timely and impeccable service. Staff was pre emptive of the needs. They ensured to provide personal attention to guests.
Overall, it was not just dining but an experience. Our host Veta Ratra and Manager Mr.Vipin Verma and Mohit Nanda, Director of Grub House ensured that we had a lovely and luxurious experience. They all were very hospitable to us. It was clearly visible how much personalized attention Mr. Mohit Nanda was providing to details of dishes and overall menu. Much appreciable. I am sure with this much of smart and hard work by the team of Grub House will take it further by leaps and bounds.
