After darshan of Kangra Devi, we started for Chamunda Devi. It was a beautiful weather in the morning . There was a river which was taking turns along with us with hills around. It was a beautiful scenery and we loved our morning drive. Chamunda Devi is not very far from Kangra Devi. It took us almost one hour to reach there.

Upon reaching Chamunda Devi, we parked our car near the entrance of the temple. The beautiful thing about Chamunda Devi’s temple entrance was that the river was exactly passing by the temple and there was a provision of stairs to get down to the river. River was flowing past big stones creating mesmerizing scene.

The temple was not crowded. We took off our shoes and headed towards the temple. There was euphoria all round with sound of Jai Mata Di Jai Mata Di. It was the same feeling as I normally get at Vaishnodevi while standing in queue. It was a divine moment for me. I was very excited and happy about visiting this temple for the first time. I wanted my kids to experience the divinity. They were also singing with the crowd Jai Mata Di. Whenever I visit these pilgrimages I get an opportunity to tell different background stories of temples to my kids .

We got our turn in fifteen twenty minutes. This temple is known for Chamunda Devi who had killed two demons Chand and Mund. This is a very famous Temple in Hindu religion. It was a quick darshan as people are allowed to stand only for a minute.  There are many hotels and resorts at the place. Budget hotels and luxury properties can also be booked if somebody wants to stay there. Chamunda Devi is only few kilometres away from Dharamshala. It is a maximum one hour drive from Chamunda Devi to Dharamshala so anybody who wants to visit Dharamshala and McLeodganj can take one or two days extra and do all these for temples – Chintpurni, Jwala Ji , Kangra Devi and Chamunda Devi.
