Sofitel Mauritius l’Impérial a well known luxurious property in Mauritius has a beautiful design creating a brilliant combination of greenery, pool, rooms, restaurants and beach side. It is a perfect blend of modernity, sophistication and authentic Mauritian touch.
Ambiance
After a grand drive way huge reception and lobby welcomes with little ponds by the side.
There is a fine dining restaurant – Ravinala offering multicuisine buffet style by the pool. Beyond reception on the other side, there are rooms facing the beach side overlooking vast and beautiful gardens.
My room
My room was lovely. It was adorned with long counter on the right to keep luggage and dressing room and wardrobe to the left. There was a big bathroom with bath tub, shower closet and exotic toiletries.
My room was fully equipped with all sophistcated provisions including mini bar, phone, LCD, comfortable beds, tea coffee maker, umbrella.
It had a special view of the sea and magnetizing landscaped gardens.
Restaurant Tamassa is by the beach which also has huge area for weddings and other celebrations.
It has two dinings- inside and open air dining.
I was amazed at the setting both inside and open air. Actually I was craving to have a grub experience by the sea.
There are three more restaurants- Ming Court a thematic cuisine and Jacaranda a gourmet style and my favourite Teppanyaki, a Japanese cuisine restaurant.
There is spa in the hotel providing wellness treatment. There are provisions of yoga and meditation. The aura there was very soothing and gave very soft and calm vibes.
Kids club is very fascinating with colourful fence, toy engines and indoor and outdoor games.
My experience at Sofitel Mauritius l’Impérial
I was thrilled to enter this luxurious grand property. Little pools by the entrance were breathers and refreshed my senses as I entered the vicinity. We had our dinner at famous Teppanyaki Japanese restaurant. I must congratulate Head Chef Dominique Oudin for the outstanding experience his team provides to guests.
Food that was cooked in front of us at the restaurant was outstanding. The experience becomes excellent specially if the service is provided with a passionate smile. I being only chicken and vegetarian eater, was provided a special exotic experience. Staff already knew our preferences. Chicken and vegetarian fritters and garlic bread that I was served with was mouthwatering.
Chicken was lusciously soft. My palette loved it. I had three chicken dishes all in different spices and style. Every time it was a new flavour that I savoured.
Next day we had sumptuous breakfast at Ravinala. Evening was a gala time at Tamassa restaurant with the Chef Yash Raj who was from India. My wish of having a dining experience by the sea was granted. We had lovely dinner by the sea side with beautiful setting. A tree was decorated with starters first. It was an innovative and enticing way to start off with starters. I liked the concept.
Then we had barbeque. Chicken was soft and juicy with perfect blend of spices. Paneer makhani was good as well.
While we had our dinner, what was presented to us was fantabulous. A group of Sega dancers performed. It was a nice show.
Then there was a performance by a group that showcased fire stunts. It was an excellent performance. I loved every moment of it.
Next day morning, we had to go for water sports including speed boat tour, dolphin sighting and snorkelling. It was a mind blowing experience. Activities were hosted by Sofitel Mauritius l’Impérial. Both the driver and co driver were knowledgeable and courteous. We had a good dolphin sighting and my friends enjoyed snorkeling.
Service
Service by the hotel was great. My favourite moments were at both Teppanyaki and Tamassa restaurant.
Overall, a superb experience. Every moment spent at Sofitel Imperial is a lifetime memory.
