I was invited for an experience at Kairali The Healing Village as part of Wellness bloggers meet Edition 2 by Ayurved Sutra. I had heard a lot about Kairali which is famous across India and abroad as well. I was waiting eagerly for the day to reach Kairali and experience the Wellness treatment. When I reached there it was a unique welcome!
There were beautiful red seeds along with tikka and a stole.
As they say people don’t get checked in but get admitted to the Kairali The Healing Village. The whole process is based on how best Ayurved can heal a person and bring fitness level to a better quotient.
As I was welcomed at the reception I was offered my favourite green coconut with a slice of hom grown fresh Mausami (sweet lemon) which had a strong fragrance enhancing experience of drinking coconut water. Way to my room and the whole area there was lush green covered by huge trees to give a soothing effect from scorching heat in summers there in Palakkad.
My cottage faced a jackfruit tree amidst greenery which was an appeal in itself as I had seen the Jackfruit fruit tree for the first time in my life.
My room had basic amenities like TV , phone , kettle.
One important thing that I observed that unlike other hotels Resorts the bathroom had three little clay jars having powdered Ayurvedic teeth cleaner Ayurvedic shampoo and ayurvedic moisturizer this was very unique in itself and I loved it.
Lunch time I was offered Sandalwood herbal warm water , njranjeil and both the water are good for a circulation blood circulation digestion and weight reduction respectively. Then salad was followed by very light and clear soup.
There were 3 vegetables in my plate and chapati. All the vegetables had minimal fat and chapati is well very thin.
Then I had wheat payasam which had no sugar but jaggery. I felt very happy and light on stomach after having this meal. Every time I had meal at the restaurant the food was very light and it had a good variety and it had a good variety and it was delicious. Chef kept the variety and deliciousness while considering the health factor and nutritious value in the food customising as per each guest at the resort.
Meditation class in the evening was an experience in itself specifically when I did yoga nidra in which one has to make a promise to self at the subconscious level of mind. The class calmed me down.
Next day I had to go through the treatment Abhyanga which is good for blood circulation and cures arthritis. After the treatment one has to go for a steam bath so that the oil get soaked in the body properly. opst this they have Ayurvedic soaps and shampoos which are must to use after treatment. All people whom I met were very happy with the whole procedure of treatment. The resort has doctors in the hospital who diagnose your problem and advise corresponding treatment. Shirodhara is another treatment that comes your mind and body.
Morning Yoga class where the instructor teaches various aasanas was very nice. The if done regularly will help for sure. The resort also has an Astrologer who with whom you can this case you are your life.
The resort is in 60 acres of land out of which they have only 30 cottages and rest of the land is for organic farming, Mango orchards and herbal garden. Hundred acres are dedicated to coconut and rice farming. There is also a treatment through rice called as nyawara treatment. Many guests come to cure rheumatism, hypertension, post pregnancy. Most of the food prepared at the resort is from the organic from rest is bought from the local vendors in Palakkad. As per the Chef, Palakkad itself is a great place to source raw materials for food.
There is a recreation room , swimming pool and gymnasium as well.
The Chef demonstrated how he prepared mouth watering food while keeping it healthy and nutritious. They have a 15 day fixed menu and 16th day onwards the menu gets repeated. A new dish is added every month. We were told about the Ayurvedic concept and about the resort by Dr Saravanan and Mr Gopi Krishnan respectively. The concept of Ayurveda is that the food is the healer and every item eaten in an appropriate portion betters or spoils anyone’s health. I had an interaction with Mr K V Ramesh and Ms Geeta Ramesh which I have already written a separate post.
The whole resort is built on the basis of vaastu Shastra. Cottages names and their structure, pillars and their designs in the cottage are built on the basis of vaastu shastra and astrology. The builder has used the material available in the same vicinity to build full resort. To be able to create to his best, builder ensures to have a feel of a location himself by staying at the land for few nights. Each cottage is by the canal. The canal is refreshed everyday twice and cleaned. Also, there are fishes in the canal to eat mosquitoes, algae etc.
A very important thing that I realise while experiencing the healing village was that one must spend minimum 2 hours per day for self healing. The food should be had in appropriate manner and prepared in a way that the fats carbohydrates proteins and everything goes in the body in a balanced way.
There is a herbal garden where many herbs are used for treatments.
A factory in Palakkad where all ayurvedic medicines, oils, soaps, shampoos are prepared. All herbs that need to be washed are first washed and then used for processing as per recipes of each medicine.
I loved my stay at Kairali The healing village. It was a unique resort in its own. Its a must must experience by all I would say, just to have an idea of the three important things that one must include in life A.) Meditation B.) Yoga C.)Healthy Diet to heal yourself naturally.
