Shanti Maurice as the name suggests brings peace to you in many forms. You will soon understand what I mean. The resort is located at Bel Ombre beach.
After the grand entrance, the resort has two little pools housing beautiful fishes followed by a soothing ambiance with brown coloured furniture camouflaged with flooring. There is reception in front with sitting area by the side overlooking a swimming pool which further looks to the ocean.
There is a fine dining multi cuisine Restaurant Stars overlooking the ocean. Restaurant has seating both inside and outside.
36 acres of land devoted to cottages, beautiful gardens, organic vegetable gardens, herbs, volleyball court, spa, library, water bodies and four dining delights.
Shanti Maurice is a big luxurious property which looks gorgeous from all nooks and corners. My room was luckily on ground floor having direct access to the ocean. I was delighted at the sight of ocean only few steps away from my room. I only wished I could stay there for more days.
Ambiance of my room
After the door of my room, there was a huge bathing cum wardrobe and dressing area. It was big enough to call it as king size bathroom having a shower cubibcle, bath tub, water closet cubicle, dressing area and wardrobe. I loved it.
My room had enough lights to make it a dim romantic ambiance or even well lit room. Wall sized glass windows and door were looking at the ocean. My room was well equipped with all modern amenities like mini bar, coffee maker, bath robe, slippers, phone, LCD TV and hair dryer.
There was sitting area outside my room with table chairs and even pool side beds.
Dining Delights at Shanti Maurice
Shanti Maurice has four inhouse restaurants- LA Kaze Mama, Rum Shed, Fish Shack and Stars
LA Kaze Mamna is a great concept of authentic Mauritian cuisine with Farathas on the house by Grand Ma of a Mauritian village. The most unique and distinctive and selling concept in Mauritius. Loved the ambiance. Food was enticing.
Rum Shed is a unique concept again. Its a mukticuisine restaurant with more than 180 rums and global food.
I had chicken and it was mouthwatering. There was also a service of Indian Dal Makhani, Shahi Paneer and aalu matter with fried rice.
I must say thus was the kind of Indian food that I hadn’t had in last 3 years even while being in North India. Meal was sumptuous and lip smacking. It was irresistibly delicious. Just loved being there. I also had Fruit punch which was equally relishable. My experience of Rum Shed was fabulous.
Stars was another restaurant where we used to have our sumptuous breakfast always. Again, it was a multi cuisine fine dining restaurant having breathtaking views of the ocean.
I tasted authentic Mauritian Dhalpuri which was good to taste. Sauted Mushrooms were my favourite always. I also savoured delicious flavours of Baked beans, porridge , potatoes. They were not spicy at all and suited all palettes. Flavoured yoghurts were enticing as well.
Last but not the least Fish Shack restaurant by the beach was fantabulous. I had barbeque chicken, corns, papaya salads, chilly, mixed salad. Everything was enticingly presented and also my taste buds loved every bite I had. Each and every dish was a perfect blend of spices.
Service
Service at Shanti Maurice was impeccable and utmost courteous. Each and every staff member is welcoming with a smile. Be they serve you at the room, spa, reception or even at the restaurant.
About Shanti Maurice
Shanti Maurice was established in 2006 with concept of wellness and spa under the name of Shanti Ananda by the owners of Ananda in Himalayas. The treatment used to be customized as per needs of guests said Bobby Ghoora, sales Manager. Shanti Ananda was later rebranded as Shanti Maurice to suit contemporary luxury and services provided by the hotel.
Per my discussion with General Manager Guido Farina, Shanti Maurice provides authentic Mauritian experience that allows guests to destress from their busy world. He said, we provide personal attention to guests so they come as a customer , leave as a friend and come back as a family.
It indeed required a lot of effort to get things going seamlessly in a resort like Shanti Maurice. Guido said one needs to respect local cultures, traditions, values and people to be able to run a successful business. To be a good leader, he said one has to lead by example so that staff trusts you and follows with passion.
When one establishes good relations with staff, it is by virtue of these good relations that business partners and guests become loyal.
Shanti Maurice is MICE enabled with two theatre style conference rooms that can easily cater to top Management of Corporates. There are few distinctively unique points at Shanti Maurice that makes it stand out of the rest like Junior Suites right on the beach , Open Air Showers, LA Kaze Mama, 180 Rums. One of the best SPAs in Indian Ocean.
Overall, it was an outstanding experience at Shanti Maurice. We were very well treated and taken care by Manager Bobby Ghoora and Executive Chef Willi Reinbacher. It was just like a home away from home for me.
A highly recommended resort. One can enjoy everywhere, be it the beach, scenic views, wellness, spa, sports or even gardens. Shanti Maurice had something for everyone! So, go and get your kind of peace at Shanti Maurice, Mauritius
