Fitness dance at Raahgiri
Raahgiri is an initiative to go only walking down the streets of Connaught Place and no vehicles allowed except for eco friendly, our own traditional cycles. The initiative is very noble as vehicles are not allowed in certain parts of CP. I loved the thought and was inspired too. I had always wanted to contribute to the cause but was not able to find out a way until one fine day when me and my husband decided to get up that early in the morning and reach CP by 7 am. Was I nuts at first I thought to give up my sleep for Raahgiri on a Sunday when I am sleep deprived throughout the week? No, not at all since what I gained after reaching there was worth the sacrifice. In fact I had missed all the action since long!!
Reebok Fitness Avenue
As we got off from the car, we could see hundreds of people walking down. As we followed the crowd, we reached a stage where people were dancing to the tunes of music and burning calories. Many spectators like us were enjoying performance. Oh, it appeared like a festival going on with hundreds of human beings enjoying. Oh, so much rush! It was only 7am and youngsters, middle aged were all pumped up with energy and zeal, enjoying. I was a foolish person to have missed this galore since so many months.
Cycling time
As we walked further, we could see so many more stages, performances and participants of course. Some places, there were proper dance shows going on. As we headed, there was a big pink balloon supporting awareness of breast cancer with the tag line ‘feed to defeat’. People were pledging by signing balloon. I too signed on the balloon.

Oh, there were many bands playing beautiful numbers. I could see many RJs anchoring shows. Young ones playing around, cycling. Skating too was a part of the event.
Skating fun
The whole atmosphere reminded me of festivals I witnessed in New York. Overall, it was a great experience and I loved being part of Raahgiri.
You too should attend it at least once to help spread positivity and enthusiasm around while being non pollutive.
