Cake mixing ceremonies always remind of festivities, Christmas and celebrations. When the ceremony is to be held at Westin Gurgaon then the atmosphere is altogether different. By the time I reached, there was fun and frolic everywhere.

I could see even kids doing their bit in a separate space. They enjoyed so much being the leader in their own space. All this clearly shows how kids friendly the staff is. On the other side.

Chef Deepak Bhatia with his team led the Cake Mixing ceremony with full passion. I could clearly see staff members participating enthusiastically.

The raw material like all dry fruits, spices, alcohols and everything got exhausted. Cake Mixing Ceremony begins almost two months before Christmas. It is said to bring fortune and joy. The way it is celebrated is that all dry fruits likje rasins, pistachios, cashews, berries, lemon rinds, dates , prunes are mixed together. Then large quantities if wine , juices and liquor is added to soak them so that get thoroughly mixed up with aroma. All powdered spices are then added to the mixture and these are stored in containers so that fermentation happens.

Per my discussion with Head Chef Deepak Bhatia who specializes in Asian cuisine, Singapore is the best food destination. Singapore enjoys ever evolving dynamic food market, be it the quality of raw materials, fruits, vegetables and innovative culinary delights and of course the curious guests and their ever increasing craving to venture in food adventures. Chef Deepak has 30+ experience in food industry. When I asked about his thoughts on vanishing authentic North Indian Cuisine and its cannibalization by fusion food, he said while he respects the fusion food that is able to win hearts of guests, at the the same time if a restaurant offers authentic Indian food, it in real sense should be authentic. He said one should definitely try Indian Cuisine at Kangan in Westin Gurgaon.

Deepak was glad to see the participation of staff members in cake mixing ceremony. He was looking forward to the final outcome if the whole exercise.

Hospitality by Pooja Singh , Associate Director of Marketing Communications of Westin was commendable. She along with Gunjan Kar Group- Head Linopinion, ensured that I had a good time attending the ceremony.
