Dinosaur & Fossil Park
After our long trip to Rann Utsav, Mandvi, Sasan Gir and Diu, we came back to Ahmedabad at our relatives house for a day to spend time with them and also explore Ahmedabad. My uncle suggested that kids would love to visit Dinosaur & Fossil Park. Back at home we discuss a lot about Dinosaurs. My little one even made a poem on Dinosaurs. So, we excitedly headed to the park with water bottles and few snacks as we knew it would take minimum 3 hours for us to and fro and to explore.
Dinosaur & Fossil Park
As we entered the park, kids were thrilled at the sight of dinosaur models. That was a life size model and I too was amazed to see the model. I have seen the movie Jurrassik Park and was not less than a horror for me. I was little at that time. So, was seeing the life size model for the second time. I had seen one museum in USA. But that was like 5 years back. Seeing it with kids was a different experience altogether. There was a variety of dinosaurs. Flying dinosaurs , herbivorous, carnivorous, hippopotamus shaped and many more. There were many fossils that we could see. Even big eggs of Dinosaurs were also preserved. A very interesting thing was that the Dinosaur & Fossil Park was very well kept.
Allosaurus
It was a never ending story of Dinosaurs and none of them failed to astound us. After we had we entered the adjoining zoo and got to see all kinds of animals like hyena, leopard, tiger which were all sleeping. White bucks, parrots and vultures were partying. Oh another section of snakes was very scary. Poisonous pythons, snakes were crawling in their chambers. We even saw a skin of a snake lying down for the first time in life. There was a chamber fir crocodile and a section for tortoise.
Tortoise
Tortoise were very sweet to look at. I Dont know how my little one got the courage to touch one of them. What he felt only he knows. I heard him saying ‘Mazza aa gaya’ meaning ‘it was a pleasant experience’ delightedly.
One more major thing was a skeleton of blue whale. I saw it for the first time. It was a humongous structure as good as a size of a big aeroplane. I was aghast at its sight.
Hippopotamus shaped Dinosaur
Highly recommend the Dinosaur and fossil park. Kids should specially visit the park ton solve lot of inquisitiveness. Zoo too is worth visiting.

Park is located at NH-8C , Dholakuva, Gandhinagar. Ahmedabad airport and railway station are at distance of 27 kms from Gandhinagar.
