After attending an interesting SATTE 2015, I was eagerly waiting for SATTE 2016. So, when I was invited for SATTE 2016, I decided to attend the event on the second day of exhibition. As I entered the gate 12, there were big and beautifully decorated stalls of various states of India starting from Madhya Pradesh in the beginning. There were many states like Punjab, Kerala, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Goa, Manipur, Meghalya, Tripura, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and many more.
There were also many International and domestic hotels chains in India that had participated like Radisson Blu, ITDC, Accor Hotels, Sarovar Hotels, Sun Resorts, Orchha Resorts and many more.
This was a massive huge area. It took me minimum two and a half hours to only visit this section.
After this I had my lunch. Cafeteria was crowded. There were stalls from Vaango for South Indian food, Subway, Burgers, North Indian Thai, coffee, tea and water stalls.
Then there was another vast area dedicated to International destinations like Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Fiji, Macau, Egypt, Turkey, Dubai, Brand USA, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Mexico, Malaysia, Spain, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, Israel, Jordan, Bhutan, Cambodia, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Romania, Russia and many more.
Many DMCs and hotels along with Airlines were also present.
Then I headed to hall no 9, 10 and 11. These halls d hotel chains, DMCs and a little section for food.
I believe SATTE event us one of the most crucial event that travel agents, travellers and other travel and hospitality related businesses should attend.
Clearly SATTE 2016 , the 23rd edition of South Asia’s leading travel trade show SATTE was a huge success. Experiencing the same after entering the Travel , Tourism and Hospitality industry, I personally believe SATTE 2016 is a grand platform in elevating the business of the industry and a strong catalyst in synergizing the strengths of major players to produce a product in one way or the other that benefits the world on various platforms like cross cultural influence, mutual respect of different nationalities and diversity of knowledge.
It reflects a positive shift in the Travel and Tourism Industry.
– Over 750+ Participants from over 35 countries and 28 Indian States
– Supported by UNWTO and Ministry of Tourism, Government of India
Chief Guest, Dr Mahesh Sharma, Union Minister of State for Tourism & Culture (Independent Charge) and Civil Aviation, Govt. of India inaugurated the show
Complimenting SATTE for bringing stakeholders from all over the world and from across the country on a single platform, Dr. Mahesh Sharma, Union Minister of State for Tourism & Culture (IC) and Civil Aviation put the spotlight on SATTE. “Tourism is not just about visiting one part of the world to another part of the world, or visiting one part of the country to another part of the country, or from one place to another; It’s a science. We need to explore it. We need new inventions, experiments. Tourism is a platform for international peace which our great spiritual leaders have given us. Most of the time there has been an international barrier or some sort of resentment between two communities or two countries. The problem has been (lack of) ‘Communication. I think we can take this strength of tourism where we can increase communication; before taking any decisions we should at least use that platform of communicating with the counterpart. So tourism’s multifold results and effects need to be weighed and discussed at such (SATTE) forums,” Dr. Sharma said in his inaugural address at SATTE 2016.
Yogesh Mudras, Managing Director, UBM India, said, “SATTE has now become an institution and has evolved as a truly global exhibition in this part of the world. The inbound tourism into India and outbound traffic from India is now surging at a phenomenal pace which has also been reflected from the increase in participation at SATTE over the past few years. Our government has also shown a lot of promise from the tourism sector and we are looking forward to some constructive and interesting developments and trends from SATTE’s 2016 edition.”
Several crucial topics were discussed during oanel discussions at SATTE 2016. ‘The Relevance of Thematic Tourism Routes in Fostering Regional Collaboration and Prosperity’, ‘Make in India and Tourism’, ‘Niche Tourism in India: Challenges and Opportunities’, ‘Associations Today: Need to re-invent and re-orient to remain relevant and safeguard the member’s interest’, ‘India as a focus for NTOs’ and ‘Integrated Online Marketing & Distribution Strategy to Enhance Business’ along with presentations by tourism boards.
