Ambiance
It was for a little birthday gathering that we decided to dine at the new outlet of Punjabi by Nature in Punjabi Bagh. It had a nice opening with flower pots and small lighting. As we entered, there was a big screen on front. The restaurant was well lit. It appeared neat and clean with waiters in proper uniforms.
At the entrance, a small walkway had 3 small tables besides lights. A couple can enjoy a romantic evening there. Then a hall divided in two bays by a separator. On the right bay, buffet table was laid out and left bay had dining tables. There were two separate little private sections on the right bay.
As soon as we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles. It was a bit early in the evening so we had choice to our table.
We selected a table in a separate section. Ours was a gathering of 8 adults and 3 kids.
Kids got a big bay to run around. Staff was friendly towards them and even entertained them. Anywhere I go, I feel satisfied if the place is kids friendly. There were two big postures which fascinated kids as one of them had a sword.
Snacks
We chose our table at a private bay. As we settled, we were offered Veg and Non Veg menu of buffet. Soon we were offered chaat papdi platter which was delicious with perfect blend of spices. It included dahi Bhalla, gol gappe and samosa.Nothing was spicy or oily. They got dry gol gappas for kids. Both Golgappe and samosas were crispy. Kids had them easily.
Starters
Even when we had not finished our Indian chaat, Indian starters came in and we found it a bit difficult to change over the taste suddenly. But we did not mind since starters seemed tempting. All starters were piping hot. I liked mushrooms the most followed by chicken kebabs. Chicken kebabs were very soft and had appropriate salt. Adding chutney, onions and lemon to them made it lip smacking. What, our tummies were stuffed!
Buffet dinner
Then we relaxed for a while and clicked snaps.
Having enjoyed the ambiance and different poses for snaps, we then headed for dinner. There were many items for dinner like delicious Dal Makhani, palak paneer, vegetable jalfrazie. I liked mutton and chicken with plane rice. Then there were kadi pakoda and palak paneer.
Kids enjoyed their dinner with breads and dal makhani.
Desserts
It was now turn for desserts. We were served a platter of custard, gulab jamun and dal halwa. Custard was a hit amongst us followed by Gulab Jamun. Dal halwa got mixed reviews being so heavy. It had moderate sugar.
It was a nice evening overall with decent ambiance, impeccable service and good presentation of dishes. One should take out atleast 3 hours to enjoy the experience.
