We went to the one and only restaurant in Shopper’s Stop Mall , Aanch in Rajouri Garden. It has five senses under bar, lounge and fine dining catering to needs of all ages and stages of life for visitors. The restaurant offers Italian, Continental and North Indian. North Indian is their forte.
Ambience at Aanch
As we walked in, there was a nice entrance with terrace or open Air Restaurant on the left and bar- ‘XTC’, ‘Kash’ energy lounge- Hooka lounge, ‘Aanch’ family dining and private dining- ‘Majlis’ on the right. The whole area was very big about 20,000 sq ft.
Kash lounge, XTC bar and private dining Majlis had good ambiance. Terrace was very spacious to hold parties and functions. There was already a birthday party going on. The terrace overlooked the main road from the fourth floor.
We entered the family restaurant ‘Aanch’. It was a well lit restaurant with ample space. Tables were placed strategically to create enough space with elegant furniture. The atmosphere was quiet and calm. Restaurant had nice and beautiful interiors. Seating was comfortable. Tables were far enough to let people maintain their own space.
Food
We had Chicken Manchow and hot and sour soup. Soups were deliciously thick with perfect blend of spices. They were served hot.
We decided to have non veg and veg platter. Non veg platter had two pieces each of mutton seekh, Murg Malai tikka, chicken tikka boneless, fish tikka and tandoori chicken. All were mouth watering. But, the best was Tandoori Chicken and mutton seekh kebab.
At only few places I have relished Tandoori Chicken. Although, I was almost full when I had it, but tasting it once, tempted me to have more. One can bet to relish Tandoori Chicken at Aanch apart from other delicacies.
Then we had Chinese veg platter containing spring rolls, chilly mushrooms, corn kebabs, chilly paneer, sweet chilly sauce and hot garlic sauce and kimchi salad. My favourite was Corn Kebabs. Mushrooms tasted a bit different though. Every snack was enticing.
Both the platters had nice presentation and were in good quantity. These platters were sumptuous to fill three persons. True value for money.
By now we were too full but had heard alot about Dal Makhani and Butter Chicken of Aanch. We were curious to taste them. So, asked for little dal makhani, Butter Chicken and Mutton Rahra to taste. We learnt that there were 78 trials for butter chicken and 118 trials for Dal Makhani. The taste of Dal Makhani and butter chicken were worth so many efforts. We just loved both. I feel hungry to think about them while writing this article.
Finale was with unique Coconut Cigar which was a special dish having ice cream with chocolate fudge pricked with hot waffle cigars. Again, it tasted awesome. Although I do not have a taste for coconut but this dessert had only a tinch of it and was lip smacking. If you dine at Aanch, do not miss their Coconut Cigar.
We had mock tail with ice cream which too had a great taste. I was happy to have it with snacks as a breezer.
We kept on having this much food inspite of being full as we were eager to know their taste to prove the reviews we had read.
Service at Aanch
Service was flawless by perfectly trained staff who was pre-emptive to our needs and took good care. They pro actively served Chinese veg platter along with non veg platter. We told them to re heat as by the time we finished non veg platter, veg platter was already cold. Staff took the feedback immediately.
The restaurant was crowded and I could even see its sections packed with people be it bar , terrace or Aanch.
Overall, a great experience. We got a chance to meet the owners of this restaurant. They were very down to earth, caring and respecful towards guests. No wonder this restaurant was all the time crowded because of the personal attention given by owners. The effort is visible through the ambience, food and service.
They also provide live band every weekend. Highly recommended .
