Lawns at Tiger Den Resort

Tiger Den Resort is one of its kind in Ranthambore. It is just opposite the main enterence of  Ranthambore Tiger Reserve in Sawai Madhopur District of Rajasthan. It is almost 12 kms away from the nearest railway station.

Tiger Den Resort is one of the most popular high end resorts in Ranthambore offering a unique feature of its peaceful and serene atmosphere with proximity to the Tiger Reserve. It was this fact for which we booked our rooms in this resort when we visited Ranthambore as we wanted a break from staying in city hotels.

We went on a weekend trip to visit Ranthambore tiger reserve. After a train journey from Delhi we reached our resort early morning and checked in. Although , it seemed aloof in the beginning as we reached , it became comfortable as we entered the resort at dawn. The resort had sprawling lawns welcoming us. As we reached our room the staff got us hot tea immediately which actually was wonderful and reflected their caring attitude. We rested for a while and slept in absolute silence.

As we moved out in the morning , large lawns with greenery in the backdrop of mountains greeted us. Kids were enthralled at the ambiance and enjoyed as we had breakfast and tea in open area. There was a big lawn in front of our room. Next to our lawn there was a small lawn adjacent to the kitchen. Restaurant awaited us besides the kitchen. In front of the restaurant was a big flower garden. As I went ahead to see the flower garden, a bigger lawn awaited surrounded by more cottages.

Our Experience

We went with kids to play cricket, badminton etc in the garden area besides swimming pool in another section. It was a nice enjoyable sunny afternoon as we lazed around in the garden. It was pin drop silence and the best part of the room was that it had no T.V, which meant it was exclusively family time.

We went for a buffet lunch in the resturant which was on the ground floor facing open area. The staff was attentive and courteous. They took special care of the kids. My children got friendly with the staff fast.

We went to Tiger reserve in the evening where we had a face to face with Tigeress T-39.That was once in a lifetime achievement. It was a tiring day but we got refreshed as we came back and had our delicious dinner.

The food was delectable and as we enjoyed our dinner we talked about tigress only. There were so many photographs of Tigers and kids just gazed at them with curiosity.

Camel at Tiger Den Resort

To tease kid’s curiosity, there was a Camel arranged by the resort. We hired the camel ride for two hours and it took us to the village inside. It was great fun.

The ambience of the resort is in unison with quietness and wilderness of the forest. There is absolutely no noise and disturbance and we enjoyed this silence a lot. It was quite a  memorable experience overall.

I would recommend Tiger Den Resort to all visitors of Ranthambore Tiger Reserve because of a.) appetizing food, b.) sprawling lawns , c.) Impeccable service d.) caring attitude of staff e.) super friendly environment for kids.
