We went to Kingdom of Dreams in month of December, when its pretty cold in Delhi. This place is good to visit throughout the year.
It was a comfortable one hour travel from Delhi as the place is located in heart of Gurgaon. Parking was also very easy. We got our tickets from entry counter and entered the huge gates.
A small township was budding inside with lots of people. To our surprise , it was a mini India at a glance with its vibrant hues and colours. It was a glittering carnival of India displaying cultures, cuisines, art and craft of various states of India.
It was day time as we entered and we had nice hot pakodas with tea for breakfast. Then,we moved on to various pavallions and enjoyed the sneak preview of various cultures. It is truly called “Culture Gully:”
We specially liked the Maharastra’s vada pao , Kerala’s beach and Rajasthani stalls. Kashmiri shawls were beautifully weaved with intricate designs. Hyderabadi biryani in lunch and dosa sambhar were mouth watering. Another major attraction at Kingdom of Dreams was Kathakali Dancer.
Kids started to enjoy and suddenly there was a sound – bu boop boop boop and my younger one clinged on to me and shouted ‘ Mama – A big monkey has entered the place.” This was a star attraction as kids who were afraid of him in the beginning , liked this monkey man’s antiques through out the day and even shook hands and played with him by the evening.
Something interesting, there were palm reading and tarot card reading sessions as well. Kids got involved in their portrait making and enjoyed pottery.
It was time to move outdoors into the open arena ,as it was quite sunny now.
As we were having hot jalebis , a dance show started in the open area which was quite enjoyable. It was a cultural dance by group from various states of India. Bhangra dance was captivating.
We then had a walk in open area and kids enjoyed the puppet show thoroughly.
We finished our day by enjoying Dance performance on popular songs by professional dance troops on a large stage in open area.
It was quite a memorable and eventful day spent as we enjoyed a glimpse of Mini India. It was a true value for money.
I would recommend this place to all for a day’s visit.
In my second visit to kingdom of dreams, I visited Nautanki Mahal which showed ‘Zhumroo’ themed on Kishore Kumar’s (the great Indian actor and singer)songs. Sets were nice.
This is a place which I can visit multiple times. Next time, I will visit to see Shosha theatre and Iifa buzz.

Mam – great blog you got here. Btw, the dancer in front is a very crude version of a Kathakali artist 🙂
