Royal Lion
I had heard a lot about Chhatbir Zoo through my husband who used to cherish his childhood memories of Chhatbir Zoo. While we were going to Barog, seeing an exit for the zoo, we decided to take a chance . It was 8.30am sharp and queue for the entry ticket was increasing.

We got the ticket and headed for Lion Safari which is the major attraction of Chhatbir Zoo. Walkway from the gate till Lion Safari was about a kilometer in which we saw various other animals which I will describe separately.
We all were super excited for Lion Safari. A bus was waiting. We boarded the bus to learn that a young Lion was admitted in the zoo and will be released today for its acquaintance with zoo. Having waited for almost an hour, we entered the area of Lions. Our bus was fully covered with grills on windows. It was fully packed. As we waited for the young lion to be released, we could hear loud roars as if lightening was in the sky. We all got thrilled upon hearing Lions roar. My kids were so eager to see the lion. After yet another long wait, the majesty came out of its prison. My elder kid was the first one to spot the young Lion. He shouted for it and when I looked at the same direction, a young healthy lion was walking down the road. I got scared but was fine since we were in the bus. The lion moved in the same direction back and forth. It seemed that he was trying to familiarize with the new home.
Majestic animal roams around
Our bus driver moved the bus in the opposite direction. We were about to reach him face to face when the driver stopped the car. In driver’s opinion, coming face to face with Lion, it would attack if we confronted it. So, our bus reached near the Lion few steps back.
This lion was so majestic and young that I was scared of its attack
