Ever since kids were born we took them to Connaught Place (CP) just once when they were 4 and 2 yrs old. So, we thought it would be a good idea to take them there a.) to give them the concept of CP which is way beyond mall and b.) to revive our fond memories during childhood. It was a beautiful weather being second week of December.
As we reached , it was jam packed with cars. After a lot of search we could find parking. It was ofcourse a reliable one.
So much of foot fall was there! CP was all decked up with big showrooms of big brands like Van Heusen, Levis , Cinema Halls, luring restaurants, cafes, fine dinings, shops, road side vendors displaying all kinds of stuff such as books of all kinds, fiction, cultural, action, strategies etc.
Some vendors had a display of artificial jewellery, handcrafted bags, sofa covers, purses, street food. Oh my God, CP was so happening! I just loved being there n recalled my childhood memories when I used to go with my parents as a kid and even before marriage.
Winters is the time when I always prefer to go to Connaught Place. My husband too like visiting it as we have ample options to shop , so much if space to walk around, eating options, entertainment options. CP is just unparalleled.
Kids were really excited to be there. They were having all the fun walking, jumping and as they love books, they bought some books and some innovative visual stuff as well. It was so much fun for them. They were fascinated by the posters of little babies on the display, animals and plants etc by street side vendors.
In a while we saw our National Flag swaying in air. We all loved it and took so many photographs.
By this time, we had taken one full circle at India Gate in the inner circle and enjoyed walking there . A person was playing mouth organ besides a board of ‘Beti Padhao Beti Bachao’ . He was playing it beautifully. As we walked further, a guy was playing guitar on the song Rubaroo of movie – Rang De Basanti. It was a nice scene. Huge crowd was surrounding him. I wished his voice reaches a strong platform and that he gets what he deserves. By this time, little that we realized, our kids raised a big alarm of hunger and going home cries. They were exhausted n hungry. We stopped at Wenger’s to buy their favourite patties and pastries and retreated back home. I thanked God for the wonderful evening at the most memorable place of my lifetime, Connaught Place.
Highly recommended
